AI Search Is Here: How to Get Your UAE Website Found in ChatGPT & Google AI
To get found in AI search, answer questions directly and early, phrase headings as the questions people actually ask, back claims with specific facts, add FAQ and Article schema, and make sure the site is fast, crawlable and open to AI crawlers. GEO and AEO are essentially SEO with a sharper focus on clarity and answerability.
Search is changing fast. Roughly a third of people now use generative AI search, ChatGPT has hundreds of millions of weekly users, and Google's AI Overviews already appear on a meaningful share of searches. Increasingly, customers ask an assistant “who's the best web designer in Dubai?” and act on the answer. If your site isn't structured for AI, competitors get cited instead of you.
GEO and AEO, explained simply
- GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) — getting your brand named inside AI-generated answers.
- AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) — structuring content so it's extracted as a direct answer.
In practice they're the same discipline, and it's not separate from SEO. Google's own 2026 guidance is blunt: optimizing for AI search is optimizing for search. If your content can't rank or be trusted normally, AI won't surface it either.
How AI decides who to cite
There are two engine types, and winning on both takes the same work:
- Google's AI (AI Overviews, AI Mode) runs on Google's index — strong SEO fundamentals decide visibility.
- Independent engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude) retrieve and cite content at the passage level — they'll quote the cleanest answer to a question, even from a smaller site.
The 7 things that get you cited
1. Answer first
Put a direct, complete answer in the first 40–60 words of a section. AI Overviews frequently pull from the opening of a page, so don't bury the answer under a long intro.
2. Use question-style headings
Write H2s and H3s as the exact questions customers ask — “How much does a website cost in Dubai?” beats “Pricing.”
3. Be self-contained
Each section should stand alone, because AI pulls individual chunks. Don't rely on “as mentioned above.”
4. Back it with evidence
Specific numbers, named sources and clear facts get cited far more than vague marketing claims. Evidence density beats keyword stuffing.
5. Cover the full topic
Address sub-questions, edge cases and follow-ups. Pages that answer many related questions get cited more often.
6. Add the right schema
Use FAQPage, Article, Organization and BreadcrumbList schema so engines understand your structure and entities. (This very page uses them.)
7. Let the crawlers in
Make sure your content is crawlable and that your robots rules don't accidentally block AI crawlers like GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot — and that key info isn't hidden behind JavaScript.
Want your website built and structured to win AI search? Let's do it.
Get AI-ReadyDon't fall for the hype
Plenty of “AI SEO” tools sell shortcuts that don't work — magic files, keyword stuffing, fake expert quotes. What actually drives AI visibility is genuine expertise (E-E-A-T), clear structure, real evidence and a fast, crawlable site. That's exactly how I build every ITZ site — and this blog.
The UAE advantage
Most UAE businesses haven't adapted yet, which means there's a real first-mover window. A well-structured, locally-focused site that clearly answers “best [service] in [your city]” questions can become the source AI cites — sending you customers your competitors never see.
