Website Copy That Sounds Like a UAE Business (Not a Brochure)

If your site says you are “a leading provider of holistic solutions leveraging synergy,” you do not have a design problem. You have a sentence problem. UAE buyers are busy, bilingual, and allergic to brochure English. They want to know what you do, what it costs in AED, and whether you will reply today.

I write a lot of the words on the sites I build, because a sharp layout with timid copy still does not get WhatsApps. This is how I edit.

Write like you talk on the phone

When a contractor calls me, they do not say “we facilitate turnkey excellence.” They say “we do villa fit-outs in Dubai and we need a site that does not look like 2018.” That second sentence is web copy. Keep the first one for the unused About draft.

A useful test: read the homepage out loud. If you would be embarrassed to say it to a client in Business Bay, rewrite it. Then put the human version on the page. The first five seconds are mostly words, not gradients.

Be specific or look generic

Specific copy is how you beat a bigger competitor with a weaker site.

Notice the second column can be checked. That is the point. Trust in the UAE is not a stock badge that says “Trusted.” It is a claim someone could contradict if it were false.

AED, VAT and the fear of publishing a number

You do not have to publish a full price list. You should not hide behind “contact for pricing” if you already quote ranges every week. A starting figure plus what changes the price (site visits, drawings, rush) saves everyone a week of dancing.

Say whether 5% VAT is included. Foreign templates forget this and you look sloppy. If you take Tabby or a deposit, say that too. I go deeper on ranges in the website cost guide — the same honesty belongs on your own service pages.

Arabic is not a translate button

If you have an Arabic version, it needs a translator who understands your trade, not a plugin. Formal Arabic for a government-facing firm is not the same as the warmer Arabic a family clinic wants. Mixed English brand names are fine. Mixed grammar is not. See bilingual sites for the layout side; this post is about the voice.

Never leave one language as an afterthought paragraph under a full English page. That reads like you did not budget for half your audience.

Buttons that sound like a person

“Submit” is software. “Send on WhatsApp” is a person. “Learn more” is a shrug. Name the destination: “See villa projects,” “Book a hygiene visit,” “Get a same-day quote.” If the button is the only thing they tap, it should not be shy.

What I ask clients before I write

1. What do you wish people would stop asking? Put the answer on the page.
2. Who do you turn away? Write that. It attracts the right ones.
3. What happens after WhatsApp? Set the expectation: reply window, site visit, deposit.
4. Which job are you proud of this year? That story beats a mission statement.

Then I pair the words with the pages you actually need. Copy cannot save a site that has no contact path. It can save a site that has a path and nothing worth reading next to it.

It can draft. You still need the details only you know. I treat AI as a junior, not as the author of record.

Opening, what’s included, who it’s for, proof, FAQ, WhatsApp. If a paragraph does not help someone decide, cut it.
