Hotel & Hospitality Website Design in Dubai
A Dubai hotel website has one unromantic job before the mood film: show a real room, the area, tonight’s path to a reservation, and whether the restaurant is open. Everything else is atmosphere. Atmosphere that blocks the button is how guests open an OTA.
I am not trying to kill photography. I am trying to stop a 12MB looping lobby reel from eating the first four seconds on hotel Wi‑Fi that already struggles. Guests compare you in the taxi from DXB. If your site stalls, Booking.com does not.
Direct booking versus the OTA tax
OTAs bring demand. They also train the guest to ignore your URL. The website’s job is to make the direct path obvious: dates, room type, rate in AED with taxes described honestly, cancellation in a sentence a human can parse. If you cannot power a live engine yet, a WhatsApp to reservations with dates pre-filled is more honest than a calendar that always says sold out because nobody mapped the rooms.
Do not hide the best rate in a login wall. Do not make a UAE mobile number mandatory if the guest is still on a roaming SIM at the airport. Offer WhatsApp and a simple form. I cover booking product choices in a different context in booking flows — hotels have the same no-show physics, plus rate codes and channel managers.
What the first screen must say
Property name, neighbourhood (Marina, Downtown, Al Seef, not “iconic address”), one room photograph, and Book / Enquire. Stars and brand logos can wait a scroll. If you are independent, say so. If you are a soft brand, do not borrow a parent company’s visual system you cannot maintain.
Mobile galleries that survive hotel Wi‑Fi
Room galleries sell. Uncompressed 4K tours do not, not on a mid-range Android on a captive portal. I ship a first image that is the bed and the window, correctly sized, then let the rest lazy-load. Floor plans of the suite can be a tap, not a 40-slide carousel that resets when the guest rotates the phone.
Video: a muted loop with a still poster is fine if the file is light and the headline stays readable. Autoplay with sound in a lobby is how you annoy the person standing next to the guest. The same speed discipline as any UAE site applies; the metrics live in Core Web Vitals.
WhatsApp for reservations, not a 12-field form
The desk already lives in WhatsApp. Give guests a button that says “Ask about a room” and pre-fills dates if you have them. Group bookings, iftar enquiries, and accessible-room questions do not fit a rigid engine. A human on a business number beats a chatbot that cannot see inventory.
Keep the public number consistent with Google Maps and the invoices. A property that lists three different mobiles on three platforms trains guests to doubt the confirmation SMS.
OTA taking the margin? Send me the live site. I will tell you if the direct path is even visible on a phone.
Send the hotel URLF&B menus, prayer times, Ramadan hours
Guests search the hotel name plus breakfast, plus spa, plus “open now.” Treat F&B like a restaurant site: HTML menus with AED, not a PDF that fails on cheap phones. I wrote the F&B pattern in restaurant websites in Dubai. On a hotel domain, add outlet hours and whether dress codes are real.
UAE specifics that foreign templates omit:
- Prayer room or mosque walking time, if you have it, in one line — not a spiritual essay.
- Ramadan hours for restaurants and the pool, dated, then taken down when the month ends. Seasonal hygiene is in Ramadan and campaign updates.
- Friday brunch as its own block if it is a revenue line, with a booking path that is not buried under rooms.
Bilingual hospitality, without a translate widget
Arabic-speaking guests and regional bookers notice when AR is a plugin that flips only the homepage. A proper switcher, RTL for Arabic pages, and room names that do not become nonsense after machine translation — that is the work in bilingual Arabic and English sites. You do not have to translate every spa package on day one. You do have to translate the booking path, cancellation, and the address.
I test hotel builds on a phone in a real lobby when I can, on the property Wi‑Fi, not only on my fibre. If the gallery crawls, we cut weight before we add another animation. Send the URL to ITZ if you want that pass without a 40-page RFP.
I design hospitality sites with menus, hours, bilingual labels and a WhatsApp that the desk will actually answer.

Should a Dubai hotel still send guests to Booking.com from the homepage?
You can mention OTAs. The primary button should be your own booking path or WhatsApp to the desk. Sending paid brand traffic straight to an OTA is how you pay twice.
Do I need a full booking engine on day one?
Small properties often start with WhatsApp or a short request form plus a channel manager later. A broken calendar that shows no rooms is worse than a human reply.
What hospitality details belong on the first screen in the UAE?
Area, a real room photo, tonight-or-dates path, and a way to message. Prayer facilities, airport distance and Ramadan hours can sit close — not in a PDF named info-pack.
